Frequently Asked Questions

What's the time commitment for teachers?

Teachers should dedicate 2 hours per week dedicated to planning and creating course content. Each teacher will spend 1 hour per class, unless otherwise specified by AcademiaEdge administrators.
What is the reward for teaching classes for AcademiaEdge?

We offer 50 volunteering hours per class taught. In addition, we offer an accumulative volunteering hours system, in which if you teach another class, you get 15 hours more for that class. For example, if a teacher was teaching three classes, he would earn a total of 50 hours, 65, and 80 hours from the three courses respectively.
What platform do you use for classes?

Our classes are over Zoom and we use Google Classroom to post class materials, assign homework, and make important announcements.
How much time will advisers have to spend with AcademiaEdge>

Advisers and mentors will spend one hour per week with the AcademiaEdge administrative team for guidance.
Are there any qualifications required for advisers and mentors?

All the AcademiaEdge team requires is for teachers and advisers to be in high school or older. We evaluate a teacher based off their (potential) interview and their experience.
How many students will a teacher have per class?

AcademiaEdge enforces a 5:1 student to teacher ratio per class.
Is there homework for students?

Yes, every week teachers will post homework which students are expected to complete and submit. In the following week, we will grade and go over the homework in class.
